Don’t let our joy mislead you, we didn’t win the certificate in the lottery but we’ve earned it with hard labor. And it was worth it since we truly believe that ISO certification makes a difference when cooperating with IT partners. The difference lies predominantly in the way projects are conducted and data is protected. Among others, you can expect a higher quality of service and efficiency of processes.
Most importantly, ISO certificates are not given once and for all. We (and every other company) have to renew it every 3 years and are obliged to undergo annual controls to ensure ongoing compliance with the standards. That is why many companies choose from the pool of ISO-certified suppliers only.
ISO certificate is a seal of approval that a particular company complies with international standards determined by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The process of certification is conducted by a third-party body that intrinsically has to be independent and impartial. The ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 standards cover the key aspects of the company’s operation. Becoming an ISO-certified software development company is a protracted and time-consuming proceeding. It can take from a couple of months to a few years.
You might wonder why, when certificates and prizes are abundant, one should pay attention to yet another one. The answer is simple – ISO is independent and encompasses aspects of a company’s operation in detail. An autonomous auditor thoroughly examines business processes – so you can rest easy when it comes to choosing your business partner.
Leakage of classified information or documents, password cracking, data loss, or hacker attacks are commonplace in the IT industry. They can be prevented using best practices described by e.g. ISO standards. Cooperation with ISO-compliant suppliers simply helps you to minimize the risk.
Every year, a certified company is visited by an auditor who checks the compliance of practices with safety standards. They not only analyze the processes and documentation, but also conduct interviews with employees. It guarantees you that the potential contractor takes seriously the issues related to data security.
Safety procedures define for example:
To put it in a nutshell, we’re pleased to announce we’ve been certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 27001. If you are looking for a reliable and trustworthy business partner that takes your security seriously – let’s talk!

TechReviewer.co makes such research in different IT categories (web and software, mobile apps, cloud computing, digital marketing, etc.). They analyze different specific metrics and feedback, reviews from customers and professionals.
NeuroSYS has earned such an honorable mention with their strategic approach to projects and a broad experience in the Artificial Intelligence business.

Moreover, NeuroSYS has been nominated as an example of modern, efficient management and service. The company takes advantage of the newest technologies and offers complete development solutions that help their partners to save time and money and to be ahead of the competition.
AI has always been deeply rooted in our DNA, starting from the very name of our company. However, what makes us different from other companies offering such solutions is that we’re not using off-the-shelf-tools, which can be a remedy for simple projects. To solve advanced problems and take our partners’ business to the next level we develop bespoke AI solutions. To achieve that, we’ve got an in-house research and development team, still a rarity nowadays.
Since 2010, we’ve been delivering custom IT solutions in a predictable way. Our team might have grown considerably (almost 100 people on board!) but we’re proud to have kept a family-like, informal atmosphere.
We specialize in web development, mobile development, and needless to say artificial intelligence – particularly machine learning and augmented reality. We offer a comprehensive range of services for streamlining product development starting from the ideation stage to making it market-ready:
First and foremost, we don’t just focus on IT solutions – we build partnerships. With this value in mind, we successfully completed over 100 projects for various businesses: from Fortune 100 and Big Pharma companies to niche industrial firms and startups. With our brands Samelane and nsFlow we help companies to adapt to digitalization and improve their internal and external processes with new technologies.
The platform helps you to explore and compare software development companies located all around the world. All of them have been carefully selected based on various specified criteria. If you’ve got special requirements, such as high availability or maximum hourly rate you’re willing to pay, their search engine will surely help you find a perfect match.
If you’re looking for top-notch development providers only, then browsing the top companies lists in your area of interest will most definitely be helpful. Like the one we’re proud to have been featured in recently.
Have we already mentioned that we’ve been also featured in the Top IT Services & Consulting Companies list created by DesignRush? We recommend to have a look at the ranking as well!

Clutch features B2B service providers and software developers based on client reviews, work quality, services offered, and market presence, which makes this report to be of great use for those struggling to find a trustworthy business partner. Being named among Clutch Leaders acknowledges the company’s reliability and commitment to providing quality services.
We want to express our gratitude to all of our clients and partners who with their trust, honest reviews and feedback contributed to this. And of course, big appreciation goes to our team that stands behind every milestone we manage to achieve.

We started our journey back in 2010 from a small software development company based in Wrocław, Poland. Ten years later we are still a family-like firm but with more than 80 members on board and offices located in different corners of Europe (Berlin, Stockholm, Wrocław, Białystok).
Our clients come from all around the world: UK, USA, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Poland etc. We thrive on the diversity of our portfolio and successfully cooperate with different types of businesses, ranging from startups and SMBs, up to large enterprises and companies from Fotune100. For several years we were named among best software houses and we do not stop there.
Within these years our expertise and talent pool grew together with the range of the services we offer which now covers all stages of product development starting from the ideation to making the product market-ready:
It might sound hypocritical from our side to give some tips on this, but believe it or not, we also face the trouble of finding good vendors from time to time. And so we developed certain rules on that.
A starting point is to go through the personal recommendations from your network and check independent ranking websites, such as Clutch or The Manifest. Read reviews, explore companies’ portfolios to find what speaks to you. This will allow you to shortlist several candidates.
Then it’s great if you can arrange interviews with tech leads directly, to make sure the way they work, development process (if there is one in place), quality standards, a form of cooperation, and pricing fits you. Here you can read about different models of cooperation with software development companies and understand which one is right for you.
We recommend you be cautious about providers who right at the beginning promise to perform the project very quickly, on a low price and any conditions, without discussing potential pitfalls and bottlenecks. An experienced dev team will need to explore the domain, get to know the current state of things, the team on the client’s side and the problem itself before promising anything.
If you are looking for a trustworthy IT partner who values quality business software and smart IT management, leave us a note and we can chat to see if we are a match.
]]>You have to bypass the city centre because of the crowded marketplace…?
You cannot plan Sprints normally because everyone around is going for vacations…?
Well, these are undeniable signs of the Christmas season, which among all the above-mentioned inconveniences will also bring you to the dinner table with IT-ignorants (aka your family) and their hilarious questions: “So I’ve heard you’re no slouch on computers, hah? Could you take a look at my PC after dinner maybe? It’s getting impossible to shop on AliExpress. I’m sure it will take you only a minute…”

We’ve all been in that position trying to clarify what our work in IT is about, being misunderstood and unappreciated, and there is no escape from it this year again.
But instead of accepting your bad fortune and agreeing to format the disk, or reinstall Windows XP, or clean up a browser for your aunty without a fight, we suggest making things clear this time. At the end of the day, there is nothing like having rapport and finding common ground with your family (let alone escaping Windows installation
So here you go – explanation of how IT works that even your grandparents will get:
* * *
Me: So, folks, I guess you all went through the renovation of your house at some point, right? How did you do that?
Grandpa: (sighs in relief) Oh finally you got interested in something besides your computers!
I tried once to renovate the house on my own, but your grandma is so hard to please, that I had to ask your uncle Mike who works in a construction company to help me out. He recommended guys who could change the heating system to more modern and also those who specialize in those fancy-schmancy decoration works. They were renovating the house and Mike – (mumbles irritably) at least something he is suited for – was bringing them lunch and at the same time was keeping an eye on them.
Me: Okay, so people in IT work in a very similar way, just we call everything funny names.
The thing we are working on, like the house in your case, we call a Product. The person who is interested in its success, similar to you during the renovation, we call a Product Owner. And the nagging grandma, whom the whole hassle is for and who would scold you severely if something goes not the way she wants, we call a Stakeholder.
Similar to you hiring someone to do a renovation in your house, companies outsource or hire developers like me to make software (=products) for them. Some developers work on the core of the product (like heating), they are called backend developers. And others take care of the products fancy facade – we call them frontend developers.
And then we also have someone like uncle Mike, whose role is to make developers happy but also keep an eye on their work. If uncle Mike would work in IT, we would call him a Scrum Master or a Project Manager.
Grandpa (chuckles): Mike – a Master? If he is a Master, why can’t he do the renovation on his own?
Me: All developers ask the same question. But who would know without him whether the team works and uses building supplies effectively?
Grandpa reluctantly agrees.
Me: And how often did you talk to the workers?
Grandpa: Every few weeks we were meeting to see what should be done next (you know, your grandma has new ideas every week) and what materials they need for that. And every morning I was passing by just to make sure they have all they need. Besides, your grandma wanted to see every chunk of work when it was done…
Grandma with displeasure: Why don’t you tell how you were getting drunk with them every second Friday?
Grandpa squirms: These were business meetings. We were checking results and I was showing them how to do things better…
Me: We work exactly the same way in IT:
Grandma interferes: I’ve heard that our neighbours did it better. They just went for long vacations, and when they returned – the renovation was done. Why we didn’t do like them?
Grandpa: Oh, please…! Then you would have to live with that olive and not sage green wall colour and would need to accept 1000 other things that you wanted to change during the renovation. You know you cannot change much when the work is done.
Me: Exactly! Working in Sprints and being involved allows you to get exactly what you want in the end or make changes in the process easier (we call it Agile). And this way you can predict better when the renovation can be done, instead of coming from vacation to the windowless house.
I hope it’s more clear for you now what I do for a living?
Aunty: So you say IT is similar to house renovation?
Me (frightenedly): Yeah…
Aunty: I think my PC needs a renovation. Can you come tomorrow and take a look at it?
Me:

We hope your story will have a better end. In any case, if you enjoy working in agile and want to learn more about it, check out these (way more serious!) blog posts:
]]>And as it became a nice tradition to sit down and discuss our summer internship programme takeaways over a steaming cup of tea every fall, let us share some of this year highlights with you:
We aim to help young people develop their creativity, problem-solving skills, ability to work effectively as a team, learn new things quickly, be flexible but carry out responsibilities. At NeuroSYS they have an opportunity to work with the latest exciting tech (artificial intelligence, machine learning, augmented reality, IoT, AWS…) and hardware (MS Hololens, Festo Motion Terminal, a robot arm, an IoT platform, a deep-learning robot etc.).
Our interns choose what kind of project they want to work on within the topics of our professional domain. Often their goals are too ambitious for a 2-months project. The problems they want to solve have no existing solution, no tips on GitHub, even no experts in the field to help them with it. But isn’t that what real-world challenges look like?
We don’t expect our interns to deliver a perfectly working market-ready solution within 2 months. This is hardly feasible even for professionals. What we care about is the process and what they get from it: how they deal with critical problems? how effective is the cooperation within the teams? What are the lessons they learn in the end? This way we can discover young talents, test new technology’s limits and get inspired by our interns’ creativity and ideas.
That’s why we give our interns space and independence in exploring new technology possibilities. They go through the whole cycle of product development (from brainstorming on the idea, analysing business needs to its actual implementation) and can try different roles.
From our side, we provide full organisational support. There are professional project managers who introduce students to Scrum and help organise their work effectively, as well as specialists from various fields who are always ready to help.
You can read more about our internship concept and why we don’t ask students to do typical interns tasks or do pair programming here.
Meet the interns’ team of 2019 and their various exciting projects
This year we were lucky to host 16 talented students in our offices in Wrocław and Białystok:

(Wrocław interns team with their PM)
Our interns in Wrocław got involved in industrial IoT. They came up with various exciting project ideas within this topic, but one was an obvious winner – the AR application for industry that allows engineers to monitor the production environment, the state of machinery, and prevent breakage. The valve terminal (Festo) connected to Amazon Web Services (AWS) and powered by machine learning algorithms would be the basis of this app.
Interns in Wrocław decided to work in three groups. One group took care of sensor configuration on the valve terminal, collecting data in real-time from and transferring it to AWS. The other group visualized the data by creating a mobile application. And the third group tried to assess the equipment state and predict potential breakdowns based on collected data using deep learning latest technologies through researching and applying best practices of predictive maintenance.
The project brought many challenges and its proper realization is hardly feasible even for qualified specialists working full time. However, our interns managed to show impressive results and presented working solutions for critical problems. Besides creating the fully working Unity-based AR app, they found a better solution while working with Greengrass and AWS (AWS support considered that and updated their documentation accordingly) and developed a companion mobile app in Swift. We cannot be more proud!

(App in action)

(Białystok interns bringing our playroom to the new level)
Who said that tech and IT are for businesses only and cannot be used to solve our daily struggles? Six talented interns who joined our office in Białystok proved the opposite.
Their challenge was to upgrade the existing foosball match-maker bot with manual buttons and tablet application. Now our lucky colleagues in Białystok live ahead of their time: they can signal a goal and end their foosball match simply by touching the button. The game results are counted automatically and can be monitored via the tablet app.

(Solution architecture)
Besides the neat technical solution, our interns also conducted market and user research, predicted all possible user scenarios, analysed competitors’ solutions available on the market… – in one word dealt with a problem like a pro. Our standing ovations to them!
No one can sum up the project better than the actual participants:
[article-quote name=”Jakub Bachusz” position=”Univeristy of Wroclaw” image=”” content=”I loved the idea of working in a team with people that pursue the same goal. It creates a perfect atmosphere where everyone motivates each other.” /]
[article-quote name=”Michał Adamski” position=”Wroclaw University of Technology” image=”” content=”I liked the climate and the relaxed atmosphere. And the air conditioning this season was salutary! No pressure, rational requirements and a lot of freedom! This internship gave me the possibility to work on a large project that is mentored by professionals. I cannot imagine learning Scrum project management at the university or via online tutorials.” /]
[article-quote name=”Igor Zatoń” position=”Wroclaw University of Technology” image=”” content=”I liked the organization and working conditions. I learned how to program microcontrollers in C, the basics of working with AWS IoT Cloud and saw what work in IT company looks like.” /]
We want to thank all the interns and wish them all the best in their further career. We are sad it’s all over, but we are sure our roads will cross in the future
Traditionally students who have displayed special diligence got an offer and chose to join the NeuroSYS team as permanent employees (whoop-whoop!).

Clutch features service providers and software developers based on client reviews, work quality, services offered, and market presence, which makes this report to be of great use for everyone struggling to find a trustworthy business partner.
Clutch provides an independent objective third-party review of companies. Being named among leading companies by Clutch acknowledges the company’s reliability and commitment to clients. We are honoured to be named among the top-ranked polish companies and get this recognition, which we address to our team since it is entirely their merit.
This year we all worked hard to ensure that we’re always innovating and adding value to our clients and the technology market.
We keep working on the commercial application of artificial intelligence, deep learning and augmented reality:
We work in custom software development to ensure our clients get the software that they want and deserve, not the software that is available. The list of our long-term clients this year was replenished with some more great business and world-changers, among which we are proud to name Comcast – an American telecommunications giant.
Clutch highlights top companies based on a multitude of factors; client feedback, industry lines, focus lines, and portfolio. We are glad to have our profile include honest, unbiased, real-time, verified client feedback like this:
“They had valuable input and knowledge throughout the entire project.” – Former CTO, Aanbieders.be
“They make a plan, stick to it, and really know what they’re talking about.” – Founder, Hashtracks
“NeuroSYS brings a professional approach to those who do not have experience running development teams.” – CEO, Industrial Equipment Supplier
You can also find more on The Manifest and Visual Objects list of top AI and software companies, respectively.
We never could have made it without our dedicated team and our trusting clients. We thank everyone who has worked with us to make our dreams a reality. With all that being said – back to work

The labour market is changing fast. The way we work and do things is shifting due to the influence of machines, robotics and artificial intelligence.
Does it mean that human work will become obsolete with time?
Some of the tasks – indeed. However, according to the automation paradox, reducing repetitive jobs is often followed by the creation of more high-profile, computerized positions.
The labour market of tomorrow requires visionaries, tech adepts, creative thinkers, complex problem solvers, and leaders. And whereas academia lags behind changing labour market needs, we believe that at least businesses, as a more dynamic sector, should reconsider how they prepare youth for the challenging future.

We at NeuroSYS decided to contribute to raising the generation that won’t have a problem to fit in through meaningful engagement. This is how the tradition of hosting unconventional tech internships for undergraduates has emerged. And today we share its secret sauce with you:
We choose to prepare students to the career in tech & IT by showing them the great potential of technology, discovering and developing their interpersonal skills, inspiring to dig deeper into the topics they like and fighting a fear of learning new things – because this is what truly matters in the context of the dynamic labour market.
Besides, what’s the point in treating interns like a low-cost labour only suitable for tasks that nobody else wants? Without serious challenges and meaningful assignments, such training is a waste. A trainee learns nothing and starts hating the future career from day 0. Whereas for a company it’s lost opportunity costs – an odd-job worker ready to run away asap instead of a loyal skilled specialist onboard.
And when it comes to pair programming… I’ll just leave this here:

That’s why instead of monotonous repetitive tasks and shadowing, students at NeuroSYS work on their own project built around one of the suggested problems. How they proceed with it is up to them, since they get a full ownership over the project. The only compulsory part is to use new technologies from the range that we can provide support with (artificial intelligence, machine learning, augmented reality, indoor positioning systems), work in the team, and deliver what they plan in time.
Such an approach aims at developing students’ creative and critical thinking. During their time at NeuroSYS they learn how to answer the “why?”, “how?” and “what if?” type of questions, not just store knowledge in their heads. In this digital age, it’s essential to be able to navigate in all the data available rather than memorize it.
We surround students with mentors, trainers, a Scrum master, and a wide range of specialists who can advise on where to look for the necessary information, help with the process but impose no guidance or compulsory directions.
We do our best to create a real commercial atmosphere around the interns’ projects. Everyone in the company acts as a stakeholder – eager to see the progress and help if needed. So from time to time, we all gather for a demo, where interns present what has been done and get feedback from others. Being in a focus of everyone’s attention combined with full freedom of actions proved to boost self-discipline and self-management within the internship project team.

We organise workshops and training on the subjects that interns are interested in or required for the project. This year students opted for Scrum, React, .Net Core, Machine learning (object recognition), and career advice. Moreover, we encourage interns to use our newest hardware (MS Hololens, a robot arm, an IoT platform, a deep-learning robot etc.) in their projects.
The internship ends with the final demo and a lil hunger games integration:

This year internship was rated 9.3/10 by the students and got very positive feedback:
[article-quote name=”Damian Niemiec” position=”Wrocław University of Science and Technology” image=”11000″ content=”Two months of the internship passed in the blink of an eye. I was really surprised by how much freedom we had in our project. We made all decisions on our own: from architecture design to last implementation details. Such kind of internship developed my skills in machine learning and programming in general, as well as showed me how important teamwork and communication are. ” /]
[article-quote name=”Marta Rutkowska” position=”Wrocław University of Science and Technology” image=”11001″ content=”I love the idea of making an internship as a students’ project. Everything (except for the general project theme) was up to us: technologies, the form of application, roles in the group.” /]
[article-quote name=”Miłosz Matkowski” position=”Wrocław University of Science and Technology” image=”11002″ content=”The innovative idea, technologies that interest me and a possibility to use Scrum in practice helped me develop professionally within these two months. The outcome of our internship is not only the fixed hours spent working, but a tangible product that we managed to create. I find this very motivating.” /]
We believe that such form of engagement is a win-win for both the company and students. You can read our thoughts on how it can benefit businesses and our takeaways from the last summer internship.
The next round of our summer internship is still a while away from now, but it’s a high time to make sure you’ll be the one selected for it.
We’ve talked to our HR specialists about selection criteria, and this is what they advise to future candidates:
[article-quote name=”Paulina Leja” position=”Employer Branding and Recruitment Specialist, NeuroSYS” content=”We search for students who are proactive and as passionate about technology and innovations as we are. And for us, an indicator is how a candidate distributes his/her time and energy. So if you say you’re interested in a certain area, we expect you to prove these aren’t just words. Tell us how you got enthusiastic about this topic and what you do to develop yourself in it. Any extracurricular activities is a plus, of course.Even if you tried yourself in something before, but it proved to be not “your thing” – don’t hesitate to mention it and explain why it didn’t work at the interview. This means you’re not just guessing about what to do in life, but put an effort in finding this out. There is no other way to find yourself without trying and failing – it’s natural and we appreciate it.” /]
[article-quote name=”Ewa Laskowska” position=”HR & Marketing Manager, NeuroSYS” content=”Our internship can teach you many things. But if you aren’t open to development and growth, we won’t help you.Develop your natural curiosity. When you finally find the thing that you’re passionate about – do everything possible to develop yourself in it.Usually, the university alone isn’t enough for that. Try to do more things that can help you stand out from the crowd: read books, take online courses, participate in related events, competitions, hackathons… There are so many opportunities around that usually don’t cost a thing! All in all, you can create your own project or try your chances as a freelancer or a volunteer while studying.” /]
… We hope you’ll find this useful. If you want to hear more IT career advice on our blog in the future – give as a sign
Little we knew back then that this goal is, in fact, a never-ending process called continuous improvement.
When dealing with constantly developing technologies and ever-changing requests and challenges brought by clients, there is NO way that at some point we can look around and say: “Okay… We’ve achieved what we wanted. Time to relax and back off a bit now.” The only stops we make are the ones devoted to retrospective lookback analysis and finding ways to improve things next time.
Don’t get me wrong – it’s a truly exciting journey to work like that. It keeps us eager to learn new things and get better every day.
But being trapped in a cycled workflow, we might lack an occasion for a little celebration, and what’s more important – occasions to pay a tribute to people behind all the great work being done here.
So, please, excuse our lack of modesty, but today is the occasion. Since recently NeuroSYS has been mentioned among top custom software developers in Poland by Clutch (a business to business ratings and reviews firm based in Washington D.C.), we want to praise everyone involved in this achievement and reveal the backstage of the holy of holies. Enjoy a truly unique opportunity to see the NeuroSYS team – champions in hiding from photographers and camera lens:

Clutch conducts verified and unbiased reviews of thousands of companies located around the world by interviewing past and current clients, as well as by using a scoring system that judges based on factors such as market presence and industry recognition.
On Clutch’s sister website, The Manifest, we are also highlighted as a top web developer in Poland. Our profile on The Manifest highlights our services and notable projects, and is listed among other top developers in Poland.
We want to thank all the clients who contributed by sharing their opinions on cooperating with us on Clutch, as well as encourage others to submit their feedback too.
We take what you have to say about us very seriously and are proud to know that we made a positive impact on your companies. It’s our pleasure to read your flattering reviews and constructive comments. Something in your words gives us a feeling that we are on the right track:
[article-quote content=”They turned out to be great. They make a plan, stick to it, and really know what they’re talking about.” /]
[article-quote content=”Their ideas and suggestions were solid. They met all the deadlines. Sometimes, they worked in the evening or on weekends to ensure timely delivery.” /]
[article-quote content=”NeuroSYS can deliver what was agreed upon.” /]
[article-quote content=”The project management was great!” /]
However, returning to the idea we laid out in the beginning – all these positive words and recognition is just another reason to move further and keep improving. So enough said… Back to work.
…P.S.: *breathing a sigh of relief* Don’t expect any other self-praising blog post anytime soon. We’ve reached the shameless limit with this one for years ahead
Being wired up is especially important for C-levels in tech and IT. Tech executives face a real challenge of keeping the existing infrastructure up and running while staying a visionary who knows which end is up and how a business can benefit from it.
It’s hard to imagine where SpaceX would be now (would it even exist?) without Elon Musk’s visionary leadership and passion for interdisciplinary knowledge…

Luckily, there are many ways to keep up with technology development and broaden your knowledge. Networking, meetups and conferences, trainings, courses, books, and of course, a bottomless source of knowledge – the good old Internet. The latter one is the most affordable, but also a tricky one – it’s so easy to get lost there.
It’s notorious that scrolling on the Internet for news and wisdom can be really frustrating and counterproductive. To do it efficiently there should be a system that helps you check important news by spending the minimum of your precious time.
First of all, think what sources of information you need to check to stay up-to-date. It’s better to limit yourself with some exhaustive list, so there is a clear bottom line in your newsfeed (all in all, tasks that look doable are easier to accomplish). Go through your favourite magazines, websites, blogs, and keep those that proved to be reliable and informative in regard to your topics of interest. You can also scroll down and see our handpicked selection of blogs and magazines.
Secondly, set up a handy way of checking updates. You can do it through your email (most blogs and online magazines send out regular updates or email newsletters to subscribers), by following corresponding channels on Twitter, or by using a separate deck (like Feedly or Video Deck for Youtube). Choose whatever is convenient for you and helps you gather all info sources in one place.
And finally, develop a habit to check updates regularly. A good idea is to take daily info shoots – allocate 10-20 min per day on this within the same part of the day. I personally like to deal with it as the first thing in the morning, before I proceed with my daily tasks. This way I never postpone it or skip.
Here are top tech blogs that we at NeuroSYS keep an eye on and can recommend to you:
What it’s about: Paul Graham is a computer scientist, entrepreneur, co-founder of Y Combinator, and successful venture capitalist (financed Reddit and Dropbox), whose essays inspire and educate business founders worldwide.
Why we love it: Easy to consume (as Paul Graham writes as he talks), many practical real-life examples, a lot of value for business executives, tech leaders, and startup founders.
Our favourites: Every Paul Graham’s essay is worth reading. But if I need to name a few favourites, that would be How to Make Wealth, How to Do What You Love, Hiring is Obsolete.
What it’s about: Nothing explains it better than the blog’s original description: “Strong opinions and shared thoughts on design, business, and tech. By the makers (and friends) of Basecamp. Since 1999.” It’s largely driven by Jason Fried – the founder & CEO at Basecamp, co-author of Getting Real, Remote, and REWORK.
Why we love it: I’ve got hooked after reading REWORK. Signal v. Noise is like an extension to it: simplistic, personal, straight to the point, true-life, pleasant to read.
Our favourites: RECONSIDER, Don’t let anyone overpay you, I’m a boring programmer (and proud of it).
What it’s about: The blog’s author – Joel Spolsky – is the CEO of Stack Overflow and co-founder of Fog Creek Software (the company that created FogBugz and Trello). He writes on various topics, devoted to founders, executives, managers, but also developers and recruiters.
Why we love it: We like Joel’s blog for its honesty, straightforwardness, and a good sense of humour. Sometimes his statements might seem controversial, but whether you agree with the author or not, you still enjoy the reading and definitely broaden your perspective.
Our favourites: The iconic must read: Things You Should Never Do.
What it’s about: “An intelligent, lucid, and authoritative filter for the overwhelming flood of information about technology” by a media company founded at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1899.
Why we love it: Informative and knowledgeable analysis of important technologies and innovations written in simple language. Often supported with references to the first sources.
